Candidates who have reached the maximum period of candidature need to appeal to the Dean/Director of the respective faculty to extend period of study before applying for an extension to Student Pass.

Candidates also need to renew the validity period of their passport before applying for an extension for the Student Pass.

If you wish to stay in Malaysia after your student pass expires, you have two options:

​

    • You can leave Malaysia before your student pass expires and then re-enter the country as a

       tourist. For citizens of most countries, no visa is needed for short social visits, usually up to 30

       days. (for certain countries only)
   

    • You can apply for an extension on your student pass before it expires. The extension can be

      granted for 6 months maximum. You have to apply at least two month before the expiry of

      your current student pass and your passport will be handed over to the immigration for part

      of the time.

  4.  3 copies o of current VISA / Student Pass

  1.  1 copies of student’s passport
  2.  1 copies of student’s VISA / Student Pass
  3.  3 passport-sized photographs (for each dependents)
  4.  3 copies of dependent passport
  5.  3 copies of dependent VISA / Pass
  6.  3 copies of marriage certificate (for spouse or parents) and famliy letter for children
  7.  3 copies of birth certificate (for children and for student-if parents as dependent)

It is your responsibility to maintain your legal status at all times while you are in Malaysia. Students who allow their visa (student pass) to expire are considered as “overstay”. In this case the student’s ability to enter Malaysia in the future may be affected. YOU will be fined RM 30/ day for YOUR overstaying and RM100 for special pass.
