Procedures For Entry Into Malaysia

Application Of VDR

As of 1st January 2014, all international students must obtain a valid 'visa with reference' prior to entering Malaysia for education purposes. All prospective international students must apply for the 'visa with reference' prior to entering Malaysia.

Returning students whose Student Visa have expired at their home country MUST also apply for a VDR before returning to Malaysia.

 

To apply for a VDR document please submit the following document to ISSD UKM (vdrukm@gmail.com)

 

  1. Copy/scan passport (All passport pages)

  2. Copy/scan UKM Offer Letter

  3. Copy/scan passport size photograph (blue background)

  4. Please state/mention the nearest/preffered Malaysia Embassy/Consulate office.

Upon approval, ISSD UKM will email the VDR document to students. Students need to go to the nearest Malaysia Embassy/Consulate office to stamp the visa in their passport.

 

The VDR application will take about 30 working days to be approve by Immigration Department in Malaysia. For students from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and China, it will take up to 3 months for Immigration Department in Malaysia to approve their VDR document.
