All applications for Student Pass and visa /dependence pass/ extension of passes must go through ISSD. Please do not go directly to the Malaysian Immigration Department to avoid complication of visa application processes between ISSD and the department.

Please note that international students and dependent must not leave Malaysia within the first 6 months after registering as a UKM student.

Students from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Commonwealth Independent States (CIS) need to go through these procedures before entering Malaysia:
• Once offered a place by UKM, you are required to contact ISC immediately to apply for a Visa With Reference, known in Malay language as Visa Dengan Rujukan (VDR).
• ISSD will process this application to obtain the VDR from the Malaysian Immigration Department. This will take approximately 14 working days. The completed VDR will be emailed to you.
• Obtain Entry Visa from the Malaysian Embassy in your country.
 

New Application for Student Pass at ISC

The process of getting a Student Pass is time‐consuming because it involved detailed procedures which may take about 30 to 60 working days to be completed. The following documents MUST be presented upon submission of your application to ISSD:



From student
• 4 Copies of Offer Letter from UKM
• 4 Copies of your passport
• 4 Copies of Release Letter from your previous university/college (if applicable)
• 4 Copies of certificate and transcript of Masters or Bachelor Degree
• 4 Copies of resignation letter from previous employer (if applicable)
• 4 Copies of registration slip
• 4 Copies of tuition fees receipt from UKM
• 4 Copies of health examination result from the UKM Health Center (Pusat Kesihatan UKM)
• 4 Copies of passport size photo
• 2 Copies of completed IM.14 form



From dependent
• 4 copies of student's passport
• 4 copies of student's visa / Student Pass
• 2 passport-sized photographs (for each dependent)
• 4 copies of each dependent’s passport
• 4 copies of dependent visa / Pass
• 4 copies of marriage certificate (for spouse and parents)
• 4 copies of birth certificate for children
• 2 copies of completed IM.12 form



Students of People’s Republic of China MUST send the following documents BEFORE they enter Malaysia:

• 4 copies of offer letter
• 4 copies of your whole passport
• 4 copies of your High School Report
• 4 copies of previous certificate / diploma /  degree / master / phd
• 6 copies of passport size photo
• 2 copies of IM.14 form
• Bond processing fee RM 50.00
